Prior to the summer, the theme is also being carried into the public schools with a unit on Coast Guard History being developed through the Newspapers in Education program coordinated by The Day in partnership with New London Public Schools. Camp Rotary will focus their summer program on the Coast Guard and further develop a curriculum that can be used by schools everywhere long after Coast Guard Summer has ended.

The Day, in partnership with the National Coast Guard Museum Association, Inc. are proud to present “Service Above Self: A Pictorial History of The U.S. Coast Guard” – a photo journey through the U.S. Coast Guard’ 225-year history. To learn more about this hardcover commemorative photo book, click here. The curriculum being developed by New London Public Schools is structured from the framework of this photo book.
