Support the U.S. Coast Guard

Since 1790 the Coast Guard has safeguarded our Nation’s maritime interests and environment around the world. The Coast Guard is an adaptable, responsive military force of maritime professionals whose broad legal authorities, capable assets, geographic diversity and expansive partnerships provide a persistent presence along our rivers, in the ports, littoral regions and on the high seas. Coast Guard presence and impact is local, regional, national and international. These attributes make the Coast Guard a unique instrument of maritime safety, security and environmental stewardship.

The Coast Guard Foundation

In times of triumph and through adversity, Coast Guard Foundation programs focus on the well-being, education, and morale of the men and women of the Coast Guard and their families. We enhance their service by providing critical support, especially during times of injury and loss.

Our work is evident through efforts like the community playgrounds we’ve built on Coast Guard bases around the country, or calling cards we donate to crews who are away at sea for weeks at a time so they can stay in touch with their families. Other times the Foundation’s support is in the form of financial assistance, like helping make the dream of college come true for the child of an enlisted member by providing a scholarship to help with the cost of higher education.  In the last six months alone, the Coast Guard Foundation has assisted 11 Coast Guard members and families dealing with sudden loss or injury. In each case we’ve paid close attention to the unique needs of the families and Coast Guard members affected, working to provide care and comfort in a supportive and respectful way.

Founded 45-years ago, the Foundation is governed by 100 volunteer board members, all over the country. The Coast Guard Foundation is headquartered in Stonington, Connecticut and regionally in Dallas, Texas, New York City and St. Petersburg, Florida.
